Eddie C. Campbell CD Cover Chicago blues legend, Eddie C. Campbell, recorded his second Delmark Records CD with Vuyani Wakaba playing on eight tracks. This recording features another Chicago blues legend, Eddie C. Campbell's God Son, Lurrie Bell. The recording session for this project took place at Delmark Records renowned studio, Riverside Studio in Chicago in September of 2011. The CD was released on Feb. 7, 2012. "Spider Eating Preacher" follows another Delmark Records CD "Tear This World Up", which was nominated for the Record of The Year at the 2010 National Blues Awards in Memphis, Tennessee. Both record projects were produced by Dick Shurman, an amazingly accomplished producer. The audio engineer for the "Spider Eating Preacher" session was Delmark's Steve Wagner - an incredible engineer with a great ear and tons of experience. Aside from recording in a historic studio that is world-renowned, the experience was made even more amazing by the use of some equipment (microphones, etc.) that was used in Chicago's famed Chess Records studios. The tracks were recorded to Pro Tools HD through an impressive vintage recording console. The bass tracks were recorded using a DI (direct input), as well as by recording my DNA DNS-112N speaker cabinet with a microphone. The basses used on this project were Vuyani's 1992 Carvin LB-76 fretted six string bass and his fretted 1975 American Fender Precision Bass. If you can, get a hold of this recording (it's available online).....you'll really enjoy it! |
