Vuyani Wakaba Featured In Essential Sound Products Poster At The 2007 AES Convention In New York City
Vuyani was asked to evaluate a power cord made by Essential Sound Products (E.S.P.). The power cord model was the AVP-16. After reviewing this cord's performance, Vuyani was asked to forward it to Victor Wooten so he could also get a chance to check it out. The performance of the cord had such a great impact on Vuyani's sound that he enthusiastically called and e-mailed many of his musician friends to tell them about it. Vuyani's conclusion, in his own words, was: "the sound I got after using this cord was simply unbelievable! To test this power cord, I used my SWR SM-900 amplifier. I kept the EQ at the same settings both on my bass and on my amp. The only thing I did was to switch out my SWR power cord to the amp and replace it with the E.S.P. AVP-16. My sound was immediately better. The lows were tighter, the highs were much cleaner and the mid range was less prevalent. I finally heard the sound I've always unknowingly tried to EQ." "I ended up playing my bass with this new cord for an hour and a half because I enjoyed the sound so much! On the next day I made sure to let E.S.P. know that I needed my own cord. At the end of the first gig I played using the AVP-16, my drummer commented that my sound was 'punchy without being too loud....and every note was clear and defined'. This comment came before I shared with him that I was using the AVP-16 power cord. From now on, my amp will be powered through E.S.P.'s cord."
