Vuyani was honored with an invitation to participate as a performer on Roy Vogt's First Annual Thunder Row Bass Bash.  The show was held during the Summer Namm on July 22, 2011 at Douglas Corner Cafe in Nashville, TN.  The proceeds are to benefit the W O Smith Community Music School in Nashville, TN in a memorial gift honoring the late Nashville bassist and music educator Charles Dungey.

The featured bass players were Atlanta based solo bassist Darren Michaels, Nashville session ace Dave Pomeroy, the incomperable Quintin Berry, David Pastorious (Jaco Pastorious's nephew), Nashville bassist and producer Tim Smith, Detroit area basssit Emily Rogers, Nashville session ace Chris Kent, show organizer and Nashville session ace Roy Vogt, and Vuyani Wakaba.  Each of the bass players performed exceptionally well.  The audience, composed mostly of musicians, appreciated each performance.

Vuyani pefromed with Roy Vogt and his Urban Legend band.  The band included Tim McDonald II on keyboards, Shane Roberts on guitar, Roy Vogt on his Conklin Bill Dickens Signature seven string bass, and Dale Armstrong on drums.  This band is made up of some of Nashville's greatest musicians.  Vuyani was deeply honored that these wonderful musicians were willing to play his songs.

A special thank you goes to Brian Fox, edior of Bass Player Magazine, for the photograph above.
