Chicago blues legend and Delmark Records artist Eddie C. Campbell has chosen Vuyani Wakaba to be the bassist in his band.  This great honor came after a few performances, which included a performance on Chicago's Loop morning show with Johnny B (Chicago's biggest radio station WLUP 97.9).  This performance was an unofficial kick off performance to introduce Eddie C. Campbell as the headliner for the 2009 Chicago Blues Festival.

In describing Campbell's style, Vuyani calls it "a bag full of groove!"  Eddie C. Campbell plays with a very distinct, sweet tone on his trusted Fender Jazzmaster guitar.  Although he is an accomplished songwriter, Vuyani most enjoys the grooves Eddie C. Campbell dishes out.  The band always grooves and is very tight.  As a band leader, Eddie C. Campbell always knows what he wants from his band.

Currently, Vuyani, Eddie C. Campbell and the band are out performing in support of Campbell's latest CD release on Delmark Records titled "Tear This World Up!".  In addition to performing all of the songs on this latest release, the band can be heard covering some songs previously recorded by Campbell and some of his contemporaries.  The long list of artists Eddie C. Campbell has played with include Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Magic Sam, Jimmy Reed, James Brown, Howlin' Wolf, Koko Taylor, and many more.

In addition to playing some world renowned venues like Buddy Guy's Legends venue, Vuyani will join Eddie C. Campbell to perform at some upcoming festivals, private and corporate events, and abroad.
