One Night of Bass Poster

Each of these wonderful bass players brought their best performance to this event.  There wasn't a single weak performer all night long!  The performances ranged in genre from experimental music to funk, jazz, R&B, etc.  Also, some of the bass players brought original compositions, others brought their own arrangements of familiar tunes, while others displayed some mind-blowing improvisational skills.

An element that made this performance very special was that Vuyani's mother was in the audience, having come all the way from South Africa.  It was her first time to see Vuyani play the bass and she was thoroughly entertained.  She also was introduced to many of Vuyani's musician friends in the Chicago scene.  Vuyani's mother enjoyed every bass player, and she commented on how impressed she was at the high caliber of musicianship she saw. 

Vuyani Wakaba's band consisted of Dennis Sindberg on keys, tenor sax, and flute; Chris Edwards on percussion; Adrian Garza on drums; and Juan Garza on electric guitar.  Vuyani deeply appreciates the friendships and musical contributions of these wonderful and talented musicians.
